Police Say Burglars Are Watching: Don't Leave Large Boxes At Your Curb

US-ECONOMY-SHOPPING-HOLIDAY-BLACKFRIDAY

What did you get for Christmas?  If your neighbors can answer that question, you may be opening your home up as a target for burglars.

Local police urge you not to put boxes from your presents on your curb, especially when it comes to big ticket items...things like TV's and large Amazon dot com boxes.  They say it's the same as telling everybody what you received and that those new items are in your house.

Authorities say that's how burglars case homes after Christmas, hoping to steal your gifts.  They suggest breaking the boxes down, putting them in a trash can and making sure the can has tight lid.

Another suggestion, drive the boxes to a recycling drop-off.  The Solid Waste Authority has locations throughout Palm Beach County.
