The captain of a charter boat on the Treasure Coast says he's only seen a whale shark three times off the Atlantic coast and one of those times happened last weekend.
A whale shark, estimated to be about 20 feet long, swam up to the Fort Pierce Lady fishing boat, allowing those on board to take video of the rare sighting in the area.
Whale sharks are usually found in the waters near Mexico.
A 25-foot whale shark was spotted off the coast of Palm Beach back in July.
