Park Vista High Students Upset After Being Told They May Miss Prom

Dozens of students at one local high school are upset that they may be shut out of their prom.

The Palm Beach County School District says that Park Vista High is having to use a smaller venue this year, which only has a 500 person capacity, so the school advertised that tickets were limited on a first come, first serve basis.

After purchasing a ticket for $90 online, the students were told that they needed to turn in a prom contract. The first 500 to do so would get admission. The rest would be on a waiting list.

But a number of the estimated 30 to 40 students who won't be able to go to the dance are feeling left out and worried they won't get their money back.

The student contract states the tickets are non-refundable, but a district spokesperson said the school plans to give them their money back.
