You could probably see the terror in my eyes!
Okay, I'm being a bit over-dramatic, but porcupines DO have very sharp quills that use agains their enemies and while I'm not Priscilla's enemy, I think she's quite cute, I was concerned that she might get scared and back into me, which is how they wound their prey and would be attackers.
Check out our Facebook Live with myself, Danielle (1290 WJNO "Morning Rush" producer) and Deb Knepp, who hosts "Palm Beach Perspective" on our iHeart Palm Beach stations.
10-year old Priscilla is the only porcupine at the Palm Beach Zoo, which is holding events like "Roar and Pour" on Saturday, May 25th and "Safari Nights," which happens next at the zoo on Friday, June 7.
"Roar and Pour" happens on the last Saturday of each month this summer, featuring a different tribute band each time:
MAY 25 ABSOLUTE QUEEN TRIBUTE BAND
JUNE 22 ELTON JOHN TRIBUTE BAND
JULY 27PLAY IT AGAIN: A TRIBUTE TO LUKE BRYAN
AUGUST 24 NEVER STOP BELIEVIN': A TRIBUTE TO JOURNEY
