Two Boynton Beach Police Officers Pay For Homeless Woman's Hotel Stay

Another story of local police officers going above and beyond.

Boynton Beach Officers Amanda Corum and Carlos Borrero say they were called to Walmart twice last weekend for reports of loitering by an elderly woman.

The cops soon found out the 78-year old was homeless and when they reached out to connect her with services, as is standard procedure, they discovered the only immediate option would be to pay for the woman to stay at a hotel for a couple of nights.

When they told the woman what they were going to do for her, Officer Borrero says she was jumping up and down, thanking God.

Corum says the woman told the officers that she knew God was looking out for her that night.

"It was at that moment I was like 'This is why I do what I do, to help people like this'."

The woman told the officers she has been homeless for 2 years.
