You can walk off that turkey with a trip to the Palm Beach Zoo on Friday. That's when "Zoo Lights" opens.
"We've had holiday celebrations in the past, but this is the first time that we're reopening the zoo after hours, allowing people in. And we've lit up the entire east side of the zoo."
Palm Beach Zoo spokeswoman Christine DeMichael says there will be unique themed displays at the animal habitats.
"A lot of our animals are active at night in the cooler hours and the lights are a great way to see them at night."
Also, Santa Claus will be there, while Mrs. Claus will be on hand in the cafe, decorating cookies with the kids.
"Zoo Lights" opens Friday, but will be open through Sunday and Thursday through Sunday nights for the next several weeks. The event will wrap up on December 29.
