DeNiro Hits The Theaters & 2 Film Festivals Are On This Weekend

Longtime local film critic Hap Erstein joined me to talk about the new Robert DeNiro film. It's the only new one that was released to theaters, Hap says because DeNiro insisted on it.

As you probably are aware, most new movies are going straight to digital release these days, as the huge movie markets of New York and Los Angeles keep their theaters closed. This has resulted in the Regal Cinemas chain temporarily shutting down all of its theaters in the U.S., including two in Palm Beach County and one along the Treasure Coast.

The last straw for Regal was the new James Bond film, "No Time To Die," being pushed back again to April 2021. Producers had planned to open the movie this fall.

In addition to "The War With Grandpa" and a couple of things you can watch from home, Hap has details about the Gems Film Festival in Miami, which has gone all-virtual this year and the L-Dub Film Festival, which is actually being kept as an in-person theater event.
