Thirty-five arrests were made in Royal Palm Beach and Wellington during a recent crackdown called "Operation Open Doors."

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says road patrol deputies joined detectives and members of the gang unit and South Florida Task Force for two weeks in May to bust people for breaking into and stealing vehicles.  19 of the arrests were for felonies and 100 grams of marijuana was seized during the operation with a street value of $3,000.

In Wellington, while the number of vehicle break-ins declined immediately following the crackdown, there was a significant increase in car burglaries last week.  18 vehicles were broken into, all of them had been left unlocked.

Authorities continue to urge residents to lock their vehicles and don't leave valuables in sight.
