An award given to the Broward County Schools superintendent is not sitting well with the father of a Parkland shooting victim.
The Council of Great City Schools, which is a coalition of 70 urban school districts, this week presented Robert Runcie with its "Courage Under Crisis" award for his response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
18-year old Meadow Pollack died in the shooting, and her father calls the honor "reprehensible."
Andrew Pollack Tweeted that Runcie is culpable in creating lenient policies that cultivate criminals quote "like the one that murdered my daughter." He hasn't said Nikolas Cruz's name, generallly referring to him by his inmate number.
Pollack says the award should have been given to one of the teachers who died in the shooting.
