Governor Ron DeSantis has been moving quickly to implement things he had promised prior to taking office.
The new governor on Wednesday made his first of three appointments to the state Supreme Court. He is also expected to make a decision soon on the future of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel.
One of DeSantis' campaign promises was to "stand up to special interests to clean up our waters and stop the spread of toxic algae."
The governor is touring the state Thursday to make what his office calls a "water policy announcement."
DeSantis will be at Flagler Place in Stuart at 3 p.m. after first visiting Bonita Springs and Sarasota.
While the blue-green algae blooms plagued our waterways last year, red tide has been an issue on the west coast of Florida for months.
