Sheriff's Deputy Whose K-9 Cigo Was Killed Now Has A New Partner

A Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy whose K-9 partner was shot and killed in the line of duty on Christmas Eve now has a new partner.

The Sheriff's Foundation yesterday tweeted that Deputy Ryan Soriano will now work with a K-9 named Retu.

The dog was acquired through a grant from the Mary Hilem Taylor Foundation.

The Sheriff's Office says 28-year old Giovany Ramos Alvarez shot K-9 Cigo in the parking lot of the Mall at Wellington Green as he was trying to apprehend the suspect for a previous attempted murder.
