The state memorial service at Washington National Cathedral this morning will highlight three days of remembrance for former President George H.W. Bush. A service for the 41st president is set for 11 a.m. Former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, along with current President Donald Trump will be in attendance. Of course, former President George W. Bush will be there, delivering the eulogy for his father.
A fellow World War II veteran, 95-year old Bob Dole, was helped out of his wheelchair yesterday to give one final salute to George H.W. Bush, a onetime political rival.
After today’s service, Bush’s body will be flown to Texas aboard Air Force One, renamed Special Air Mission 41 for this special mission. He will be laid to rest tomorrow at the President George H.W. Bush Presidential Library in College Station after a private funeral in his hometown of Houston.
