Pelosi Says “No” To Border Wall Funding, Trump Says “Bye-Bye”

Talks to end the partial government shutdown are going nowhere fast.  A White House meeting between President Trump and congressional leaders ended abruptly yesterday when Trump walked out of the room, calling it a “waste of time” in a later tweet.  Trump apparently called off the discussion after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reaffirmed that Democrats would not approve funding for a border wall.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called Trump's departure unfortunate and unbecoming of a president.  This morning, the president responded to Schumer’s claims that he threw a “tantrum” and slammed his hand on a table.

Trump continues to demand more than $5 billion for a barrier on the southern border.
