A wrench appears to have been thrown into a possible deal over the weekend when House and Senate Democrats apparently demand that Trump limit the number of beds in detention centers operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The deal also would have only provided about $2 million of the nearly $5.7 million the president wants to build a border wall.
If there is no deal by Friday, there could be another partial government shutdown and it appears that talks on a potential deal broke down over the weekend. There are reports the talks are stalled because Democrats on the House-Senate Conference Committee want to limit the number of beds in ICE detention centers.
