The State Department is warning U.S. citizens not to travel to Iraq, saying there's a high risk for violence and kidnapping.
The department today ordered all non-emergency U.S. government employees to leave the country as tensions mount between the U.S. and Iran.
The department said employees working in the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and a consulate in northern Iraq were instructed to leave.
