Preparations are underway here in the Palm Beaches and around the state for Hurricane Dorian, which looks to make landfall on Monday as a category 3 storm somewhere along the Florida east coast.
The Palm Beach County School District says it is monitoring the progress of the storm and has set up a website for parents and students to get the latest information. PalmBeachSchools.org/stormupdates
As of this morning, all school schedules are operating as normal and all after-school activities are still scheduled.
The Palm Beach Zoo is closed today as staff there are using the day to prepare and secure the animals.
There is a State of Emergency in place for Palm Beach and the rest of South Florida, as well as the entire Treasure Coast.
Meanwhile, President Trump is urging Floridians to be prepared.
He wrote that Dorian “will be a very big Hurricane, perhaps one of the biggest!”
