Congress Heads Back To D.C.

US Capitol

Congress goes back to work today after a long late summer recess.

Democrats are expected to pressure the Senate to take action on curbing gun violence after a rash of deadly mass shootings.

Democrats will also lean on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to put election security legislation on the Senate floor.

The Senate and House will work to finalize individual budget bills after reaching agreement on a broad, two-year spending plan.

In the House, there are growing calls among Democrats to start impeachment proceedings against President Trump.
