Congressman Brian Mast (R-Stuart) says that if people can be allowed to go to the beach on Monday, they should be allowed to gather in front of the gravesites of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The congressman wrote a letter to Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie, who says CDC guidelines prohibiting large gatherings prevent them from allowing public services.
Instead, Memorial Day will be commemorated with small private wreath laying ceremonies and online memorials.
Representative Mast also discussed the latest in the “day to day fight” with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over the Everglades Restoration Act.
