Hot Take: This is hilarity on a grand scale. It's frankly not even worth diving into the nuances of the lawsuit – it's politics at its oddest and near-most desperate (and stands about a much of a chance in accomplishing anything of substance as Congress does this week). It's the hilarity of the messenger here...Donna Brazile. Donna Brazile has marched out to be the messenger of DNC altruism and integrity. Just to prove that the DNC doesn't just think you're stupid anymore – they're flat out banking on it – this is the same Donna Brazile that was feeding Hillary Clinton debate questions while working for CNN. Btw, if you're wondering how corrupt the DNC is in the wake of their revealed corruption during the 2016 cycle, well now you know. The more things change the more they stay the same.
How Do You Celebrate Earth Day w/Pruitt Still at EPA? Elizabeth Kolbert, New Yorker
Hot Take: How do you celebrate Earth Day with a straight face anyway? Of all the concocted days of the year this one is way up there. We have one planet and I agree that it's best to be smart to do what we can to protect it. That requires a bit more than one day of feel goodism. If you really want to make a difference how about putting the "Earth Day" principals in practice the other 364 days of the year as well. This means picking up trash where you see it. Recycling what you can. Attempting to not be so wasteful, etc. I've literally cleaned up trash after Earth Day events before. Like a bunch of feel good nonsense it seems to be one of those days where a bunch of people get together to feel good about themselves before resuming SOP.
And btw, about Pruitt's EPA... The US is polluting less today than the day he took his post. We also put out less carbon today than we did as a country in the 1920's. See there's a funny thing about industry and business. Most people and companies aren't out to see how much damage they can cause. The more profitably and freely companies can operate – the more likely they are to be able to develop and employ cleaner and renewable sources of energy. Apple, the world's largest company, for example is now completely operating on sustainable energy.
