  • During a “Learners to Earners” workforce summit hosted by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber estimated Florida’s economy should add 1.5 million jobs over the next ten years. They placed emphasis on internships and apprenticeships – highlighted by CareerSource Florida’s Apprentice Florida program which channels state funds through to employers for apprenticeships. The state raised the contribution to the program to $10 million this upcoming fiscal year from $3.5 million previously. A stated goal of the program is to retain Floridians in the workforce after they’ve completed their education. 
  • Boeing announced they’re relocating their Space and Launch division from Virginia to Titusville. The move begins this summer and will be completed by year end
  • Riviera Beach paid a $600,000 ransom after being hacked and locked out of city databases
