  • Governor DeSantis announced $2.9 million in funding for specific military projects across the state. The largest projects funded were aviation related between the Space Coast and Jacksonville. In South Florida, Miami-Dade's Beacon Council received funding for public-private partnership projects for defense purposes.
  • Governor DeSantis made two appointments to courts in Florida. Stacy Youmans was appointed to the 5th Judicial Circuit Court and Jeffrey Hendricks to the St. Lucie County Court
  • The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Florida Advisory Committee is holding a meeting July 23rd at the Broward County Library in Fort Lauderdale to address alleged voter suppression related to the new law calling for financial restitution to be completed prior to the restoration of felon voting rights in Florida. 
  • The state’s case against FPL’s decision to use federal tax savings for infrastructure purposes in Florida independent of state regulators is being taken to the Florida’s Supreme Court. The crux of the argument is that tax savings should be passed through to customers rather than being used for operations (and independent of regulators).
  • No widespread ICE detentions took place over the weekend in Florida, though ICE agents were spotted near Miami International
