- While there’s a push for a constitutional amendment for recreational use of marijuana currently underway, Representative Shervin Jones is proposing a measure to decriminalize it during the upcoming 2020 session.
- Colorado State University is issuing a new hurricane season forecast calling for below average activity for the year – after their original forecast called for about an average season. Importantly, CSU says development isn’t favorable and won’t be until at least August 18th.
- President Trump has postponed a visit to the Villages this week, as he’s staying in Washington to work with Congress on legislation in the wake of this weekend’s shootings in El Paso and Dayton.
- Florida AG Ashley Moody has stated that the shootings over the weekend haven’t changed her position on opposing the proposed constitutional amendment by the Ban Assault Weapons Now organization.
