  • Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation announced workers comp rates will decline by 7.5% marking a third straight year of declines. Great news for employers...
  • Florida Supreme Court Justice Robert Luck appointed in January by Governor DeSantis was confirmed to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by the U.S. Senate after having been nominated by President Trump. DeSantis will likely move quickly to replace Luck with several big cases set to be decided by Florida’s high court including the ballot language on numerous proposed constitutional amendments. 
  • According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission there were 628 boating accidents last year with South Florida topping the list for accidents. Miami-Dade had 71, Palm Beach County 36 and Broward 26.
  • Florida’s Ocean Alliance is meeting in Port Canaveral today. They’re seeking feedback from the public on issues we’d like to see addressed. Recommendations are taken to Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Their current project includes creating a strategic plan for Florida’s waterways to protect nature and address the increase in traffic on them.
