- Census data shows Miami-Dade and Osceola counties saw the biggest increase in immigrants in Florida over the past decade, and near the top nationally as well. 40% of new Florida residents over the past decade immigrated from outside of the states.
- VP Mike Pense will be headlining two campaign stops in Florida on January 16th. He’ll address a Keep America Great Rally in Tampa followed by a Latinos for Trump event in Orlando.
- Security has increased at all South Florida ports, airports and Hard Rock Stadium in preemptive response to threats issued by Iran to retaliate for the killing of former general and top international terrorist Soleimani last week. Officials note no specific credible threats have been made at this time.
- Governor DeSantis has appointed Lt. Governor Jeanette Nunez chair of Florida’s “complete count” committee. The committee is being created to raise awareness of the 2020 Census to help ensure more accurate counts. The Census count will begin in March in Florida.
- Ocean Florida is hiring someone to conduct a three-week theme park test/review of Florida’s theme parks to be conducted in spring. The job requires comprehensive reviews of Florida’s theme parks, rides, amenities and food. It pays $3,950. You must be 18, social media savvy, create a video diary and post on Instagram throughout the process.
