- Today’s is phase one reopening day in Palm Beach County with retailers and restaurants allowed to reopen with 25% capacity.Additionally, barbershops and salons are being allowed to reopen in all counties except Broward and Miami-Dade...speaking of which...
- Broward and Miami-Dade have a potential target date of next Monday, the 18th, for phase one reopening.
- Governor DeSantis has signed an emergency declaration extending Florida’s state of emergency through the first week of July. No announcements have been made regarding phase two or three reopening plans and the governor’s order suggests the state isn’t planning for a full reopening for about two more months.
- Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration has issued emergency orders for testing of employees of nursing homes and elder-care facilities. Under the new directive, the Florida Department of Health will be able to test all staff of these facilities without prior coordination with the operators. Approximately 700 of the state’s 1,700 COVID-19 deaths have come at these facilities.
- Florida’s gas prices may have bottomed over the weekend. After a record 76 consecutive days of declining average gas prices,the streak stopped over the weekend. The average gas price statewide is $1.76 per gallon, over a dollar less per gallon than a year ago.
