The Port of Palm Beach Commission is in our Election Spotlight with two Democrat primaries.
The port is a special taxing district that includes much of central Palm Beach County.
In Group 2, Incumbent Katherine Waldron calls herself the most qualified businessperson and pledges to continue promoting the port as an economic engine.
Her challenger, Peyton McArthur has served four years as a port commissioner, which ended in 2018. He's pledging to update the port charter to add term limits and an inspector general.
In Group 3, Incumbent Jean Enright has been on the commission since 2005. She cites her experience and extensive knowledge of federal guidelines among other things as reasons to re-elect her.
Enright is being challenged by former 16-year Riviera Beach Police Chief Clarence Williams. He says port authority districts were created by the legislature to be regional economic engines and claims he is qualified and prepared for the job.
The winner of Group 2 will face Mike Whalen, with no party affiliation, and a write-in candidate come November.
Group 3's winner faces Republican Roderick Clarke and a write-in.
