- After Tuesday’s spike in reported COVID-19 cases due to a data dump by Quest Diagnosis, the downward trend in coronavirus cases continued with just over 2,400 reported. The positivity rate was reported at 5.6%
- Visit Florida is officially launching their tourism campaign entitled “Florida is Back” to encourage tourism within our state. Visit Florida’s campaigns have been sidelined during the pandemic. Florida experienced a 60% decline in tourism year over year last quarter and the idea behind this campaign. Related...
- While Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties haven’t allowed full Phase 2 reopening, Governor DeSantis indicated Florida is nearing a Phase 3 reopening. He indicated that with the use of enhanced safety measures it’s possible to safely reopen Florida’s economy.
- The Florida Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Trump administration, have approved a contractor to complete Phase 2 of the Tamiami Trail Next Steps Project. This second and final phase would raise nearly 7 miles of Tamiami Trail allowing the Everglades Restoration Project to advance. The completion of the Tamiami Trail project will allow for water to be released south through the Everglades, which is the natural path for water flow.
