Palm Beach County's courts look to become the first court system in South Florida to resume jury trials.
Chief Judge Krista Marx issued an administrative order on Wednesday that calls for a "measured approach towards resuming jury trials in criminal and civil cases." According to the order, Grand Jury proceedings will resume no earlier than 30 days after the county entered Phase 2, which was Tuesday.
Judge Marx also wrote that a "small pool of jurors will be summoned for the purpose of trying a discrete number of circuit criminal and civil cases," making note that "discrete" means "approximately 4."
The majority of non-essential court proceedings will continue to be held remotely.
