- Florida’s economy has remained better than average during the first six months of the pandemic. According to analysis by 24/7 Wall St. Florida’s economy factoring in unemployment and economic growth among other factors, ranks 19th nationally. The state is vastly outperforming economist estimates which projected Florida to be one of the five most negatively impacted states at the onset of the pandemic. However...
- Florida does appear as though it will be among the leaders in foreclosures once the moratorium is lifted. Governor DeSantis has ordered a moratorium since April – which is currently in force until October 1st. According to ATTOM Data Solutions, Florida ranked second in August with total properties entering the pre- foreclosure process.
- Recently appointed Florida Supreme Court Justice Jamie Grosshans issued six written decisions in pending cases on the 5th District Court of Appeals as she’s set to transition to the Florida Supreme Court after being selected by Governor DeSantis on Monday.
- According to NOAA the western wildfires have negatively impacted 47 of the contiguous 48 states. The only state left unimpaired by the smoke is Florida. Interestingly Hurricane Sally helped prevent the smoke from spreading to our state as it’s soaked up the smoke entering the region.
