The Palm Beach County School District has a new policy regarding sick kids.
The School Board has ruled that when sick students who display flu-like symptoms are sent home, their siblings will also be sent home with them.
The policy states the following:
"Any other students attending face-to-face instruction in any District-operated school that resides in the same home as the student exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home with the parent/guardian and assigned to Distance Learning."
District officials contend that they've actually been sending home siblings of sick students for weeks, but it became official policy at this week's board meeting.
