(Washington, DC) -- Florida Senator Rick Scott will be taking on a leadership role for his party in the next election cycle. Scott was elected today as chairman of the Republican Senate campaign committee, which works to elect Republicans to the chamber.
Also today, Republican Mitch McConnell and Democrat Chuck Schumer were reelected as their respective party leaders. Which party has the majority in the Senate will likely be determined by two runoff elections in Georgia.
