The post-Thanksgiving spike in new coronavirus cases may have run its course. Florida now has three consecutive days of fewer than 8,500 new COVID-19 cases according to the Florida Department of Health. This comes on back of three consecutive days above 10,000. The weekly trend in cases is now decreasing for the first time in two weeks.

Florida’s AG Ashley Moody has issued a vaccine scam warning for Floridians. She cited an Interpol report identifying at least 3,000 active scams attempting to trick consumers into buying bogus vaccinations. Regarding the legitimate rollout of vaccines in Florida she stated: Scammers may try to exploit the sense of urgency surrounding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to swindle those trying to protect their health. The largest food market in Florida will open in Delray Beach next spring. The Delray Beach Market, which will be located at 33 SE Third Avenue, is a $60 million project and will result in up to 200 new jobs. The developers say they’ll be able to accommodate 2,000 customers daily.

The first right whales of the fall migration have been spotted in Florida waters. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recently spotted a young calf with its mother, known as Millipede, off Vilano Beach in North East Florida.
