PBSO Mourns Loss Of At Least 4th Employee To Coronavirus

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of another team member to the coronavirus.

According to a Facebook post, Corrections Support Personnel Gregory Pierre died while undergoing surgery, following a COVID diagnosis.

Just short of his 47th birthday, Pierre leaves behind a wife and daughter.

Last year, three PBSO employees died from the virus. 44-year old Deputy Angela Chavers passed away in September.

Deputy Maurice Ford died at 50 last August and 38-year old Sergeant Diaz Ayala lost his life to COVID-19 in April.

Another deputy died on Tuesday, but his cause of death is not known.

The Sheriff's Office announced the passing of 61-year old Jacinto Navarro, known by his co-workers as "Apple Head."

He served with the agency for 38 years.
