Top Three Takeaways – March 4th, 2021
- Hold On. I wish Wilson Philips applied here but we’ve got to hold on for more than one more day. At minimum we’re looking at 701. That’s when the next Congress is sworn in, in 2023. In the meantime, we’ve simply got to hold onto our sanity and where possible our money. Consider that right now there are untold thousands of would-be illegal immigrants wearing Joe Biden shirts approaching our border while tens of thousands of illegal immigrant minors have been allowed into our country, with 108 having already tested positive for COVID-19, while Dr. Seuss is being canceled by those who just last week were among the Muppet offended. This country has gone batcrap crazy and fast because Joe Biden is the person minding the store and Democrats completely control Congress. My wife asked me the day before the Georgia runoff Senate elections what would happen if Democrats won both seats. I told her you don’t want to know. This is why, and they’re just getting started. The cancel culture immediately went into high gear led by big tech before Biden even took office and radicals are truly in control in Washington. The only question anymore is what batcrap crazy thing will happen today. I’ve said it recently and I’ll say it consistently until sanity is once again represented in Washington – don’t cave on anything in the name of political correctness ever again. You give an inch and these lunatics will take the rest of the 1st Amendment along with your sovereignty, your safety and your money.
- Neanderthal Thinking. That’s what Biden called the decisions to lift COVID restrictions by governors in Mississippi and Texas. But accepting illegal immigrants crossing the border into Texas (and other states) infected with COVID-19 isn’t. I’m pretty sure you’d have to be an actual Neanderthal for that to make sense. Which while we’re at it. How’s that unity thing working out? For all of the play media gave Trump’s potentially divisive words – where are they when Joe calls the governors of two states Neanderthals? Funny how that works isn’t it? Now the definition of a Neanderthal is this: “a person who has primitive or unenlightened ideas”. Now, going by the average IQ of each state, Biden has a point about Mississippi potentially being the least enlightened – as they do rank lowest for IQ – however here are the rest of the five least enlightened states: New Mexico, Hawaii, California and Louisiana. Know what they all have in common? High unemployment, high taxes, high restrictions and Democrats governing them. But that’s enlightened, right Joe?
- Nikki Fried jumped the shark. Can Florida have its Agriculture Commissioner back? Within our bastion of sanity known as Florida we have outliers. The enemy of pragmatism is an echo chamber. If all you’re surrounded by is a bunch of people telling you only what you want to hear you’re likely to lack a sense of reality. On Tuesday when the Mason-Dixon poll was released showing Ron DeSantis with strong approval and significant leads over Crist and Fried in hypothetical 2022 matchups, I addressed a couple of tweets expressing their disbelief. One person said... It can’t be accurate. There isn’t anyone in my circle of friends who approves of DeSantis. Now in her mind that means the poll’s wrong. In reality we know that regardless of the accuracy of the poll, all it actually says is that her friends are all libs. Yet she feels that represents Florida’s reality. That’s what happens when you create an echo chamber and lose any sense of reality. Perhaps that explains what happened to our Agriculture Commissioner gone rogue Nikki Fried. It’s about now that if she has any sense about her left, she’ll realize her effort to turn the Florida Agriculture office into the resistance headquarters has failed. Happy Days never recovered once it jumped the shark. While Nikki’s not Andrew Gillum and has that going for her, there’s at least as good of a chance that her happiest days politically in Tallahassee are behind her. Oh, and as for that other tweeter in denial over the poll. She was dismissing the Maxon-Dixon poll as a right-wing outlier. I let her know that Mason-Dixon had Gillum over DeSantis by one in 2018. If we want to apply their previous margin of error to their most recent sample – make that an 11-point lead for DeSantis over Nikki and 13 over Crist. And by the way – Florida's outlook provides reason for you to be able to hold on for another 701 days. Not that it’ll be easy.
