Donald Trump is voting today. Are you?
Bottom Line: Our former president is among the many South Florida’s voting today. That’s because Palm Beaches municipal elections are among the 19 in Palm Beach County and 5 in Broward holding elections today. Donald Trump is among the record number of residents who’ve once again requested a vote by mail ballot for the municipal elections.
Entering today there were 11,833 resident of Broward who’d voted by mail, or 8.3% of eligible voters in cities holding elections today. In Palm Beach County, the total stands at 41,046, or 11.8% of those eligible. With municipal elections typically averaging 18% turnout – there's a good chance we’re set to see some communities set turnout records. As I recently illustrated, 59% of voters in last year’s Presidential election in Florida didn’t vote in local elections previously. The question is – how many new voters will? Based on mail in ballots, it’s clear that we’ll at least top the typical 18% or so and with many South Floridians now well aware of the impact of local officials during the pandemic – it's not unrealistic to think we could set turnout records.
Here are the five cities in Broward holding elections today:
- Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Miramar, Sea Ranch Lakes
In Palm Beach County these are the nineteen communities holding elections today:
- Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Briny Breezes, Delray Beach, Haverhill, Hypoluxo, Juno Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, Loxahatchee Groves, North Palm Beach, Ocean Ridge, Pahokee, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, South Bay, Tequesta, West Palm Beach
Polls are open from 7am to 7pm. Here’s to hoping you make you voice heard closest to home. After all, it’s important enough that Donald Trump’s voting today. So should you.
