Bottom Line: Your daily recap of the some of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you in South Florida.
- The Florida Department of Health reported 4,791 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. The total was slightly higher than the prior Tuesday leading to a slight uptick to weekly trend for daily cases. The overall trend remains the lowest November 4th.
- Over 4.3 million Floridians now been vaccinated for COVID-19, with more than 2.4 million who’ve completed the vaccine schedule. This includes 110,532 Floridians who’ve now received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
- Governor DeSantis confirmed all Floridians will be granted access to a vaccine prior to May 1st. After dropping the age for eligibility to 60 on Monday, DeSantis said the age will be dropped to 55 later this month and opened to all Floridians during April.
- On back of numerous top financial firms relocating to South Florida over the past year comes a report that Florida’s capital investment also surged. According to Site Selection Magazine, Florida rose from 17th to 9th in capital investment over the past year. It’s the highest ranking in the state’s history. Florida accounted for new 125 projects at greater than $1 million each.
