- With fewer than 2,500 new coronavirus cases reported on Sunday, Florida’s weekly trend for cases is now below 3,200 daily. That’s the lowest weekly trend for cases since October 21st.
- Nearly 9.6 million Floridians, or about 55% of adults, have now been vaccinated with at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 7.5 million Floridians have completed a vaccine series.
- Publix became the latest business to drop a mandatory mask policy for those who are fully vaccinated over the weekend. Under Florida law, businesses don’t have the legal authority to demand proof of vaccination for service. Under federal law, no business, other than an employer, has a legal right to any of your healthcare information you choose not to disclose.
- Florida’s Special Session to address the recently renegotiated Seminole Compact agreed to by Governor DeSantis and the Seminole Tribe commences today. The session is scheduled for five days and will consider nine bills addressing most aspects of gaming within the state in addition to the expansion of gaming to include sports betting which would be wholly managed by the Seminole Tribe.
