Family Identifies Riviera Beach Man Who Died In Fireworks Incident

The family of a man who died after a fireworks accident has identified him as 55-year old Charles Morris.

The retired construction worker was found lying in the street after 8:30 on Sunday night. Another man was injured in the incident, which has not been fully explained by police.

Neighbors in the Lone Pine Estates neighborhood of Riviera Beach heard loud booms just before Morris was found dead. Firecrackers that had not been used and various types of fireworks debris were found in the street hours after the incident.

Police say the man who survived is hospitalized in critical condition.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad and the ATF are assisting Riviera Beach Police in the investigation.
