- A third condo building in South Florida has been deemed structurally unsafe as inspections of older buildings continue in the wake of the Champlain Towers South collapse. Regent Palace in Surfside, just five blocks from the Champlain Towers South site, was determined to not be safe after the results of an engineering report. The building is 70 years old. Related...
- A minimum of $150 million will be awarded to victims/families of the Champlain Towers South collapse. That money will include $50 million from insurance on the building with $100 million from the sale of the property location. The announcement was made by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Michael Hanzman during a hearing on Wednesday.
- Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is the latest high-profile “breakthrough” case. Despite being vaccinated Moody has tested positive. She tweeted: I received a COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year and today tested positive for the virus. Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms and my family is in good health. As I continue to self-quarantine, I want to encourage Floridians to be vigilant about their health. Governor DeSantis urged Floridians to get vaccinated on Wednesday saying: These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.
- During a Sean Hannity hosted townhall in Miami Wednesday night, numerous Florida politicians pled with the Biden administration to aid the Cuban people currently under persecution. A week ago, Wednesday Governor DeSantis hosted a roundtable resulting in the ability to provide internet to the island. He immediately sent a letter to President Biden asking for permission to do so which hasn’t been granted over a week later. DeSantis had this to say to Biden: Step up and be on the side of freedom. The internet access is something we have the capability of doing. We have companies in the US that want to do it, but they need the OK of the federal government. He has it within his authority to do that. He can make it happen, and if he’s willing to do that, I think it would make a positive difference. As it stands now, he’s basically just sitting there doing nothing. He’s leaving these folks out to dry, and what’s gonna end up happening, if they don’t get any type of assistance, is the regime will continue to clamp down, and they’ll eventually stamp this out and then they’ll remain even stronger in power, and that will be a huge blow to the cause of freedom.
