- The Democratic Primary for Florida’s 20th Congressional District is too close to call. With over 47,000 votes counted, 12 votes currently separate Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and Dale Holness - with Holness in the lead. All precincts are reporting, and a recount is expected. Jason Mariner has won the Republican primary and will advance to January 11th's general election.
- Miami mayor Francis Suarez easily won re-election as did Miami Beach’s Dan Gelber. In addition to reelecting Gelber, residents voted in favor of Gelber’s 2am curfew for alcohol sales in the entertainment district. In Hialeah, former Miami-Dade Commissioner Steve Bovo will be the city’s next mayor. In Homestead, Mayor Steve Losner narrowly was reelected. A runoff election for mayor will occur in Sunny Isles between Dana Goldman and Larisa Svechin. In Highland Beach residents voted for the referendum to establish their own fire department.
- With 2,000 COVID-19 cases reported statewide on Tuesday, Florida’s weekly trend for cases dropped yet again. Florida’s averaged 1,718 daily cases over the past week – the lowest since June 25th. Florida continues to have the lowest population adjusted cases in the country.
- 64 fewer Floridians are hospitalized with COVID-19 today. Entering Wednesday 1,901 people were hospitalized with the virus – the lowest since July 1st.
