A K9 officer with the West Palm Beach Police Department is getting a new custom-fitted body armor uniform.
The bullet and stab protective vest for K9 Zo comes from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc, a non-profit that has given more than 4,500 vests to dogs with law enforcement agencies across the country.
The vest has been certified by the National Institute of Justice and will be delivered within a couple of months.
The program is open to dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed.
