- Catholic in name only. First, I’d like to start by saying that I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Sunday. That’s true even for my non-Christian friends in the audience. It’s my hope that God blesses you and your family and that as a concerned community of people who care about our communities, our state and our world – our prayers and wishes are answered. I mean that sincerely. I also mean what about to say next sincerely. President Biden, at least by way of actions, is Catholic in name only. As a struggling Catholic myself the last thing I’m going to do is cast judgement on Joe Biden’s heart. I don’t know what’s there, I don’t know what his relationship with God is and I’m pretty sure that I’d immediately become a hypocrite for my many failings if I tried. All of that is of course for God to decide. But what I do know is this. Joe Biden’s policy actions as president are consistently the exact opposite of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Convenient Catholicism is nothing new. For example, the most prolife organization in the world isn’t Preborn or even the National Right to Life – which is the oldest and largest dedicated prolife organization. It’s the Catholic Church itself. The Catholic Church takes a hardline on abortion. It’s wrong in the eyes of God. And most Catholics are prolife – but barely. 47% of Roman Catholics identify as prolife while 46% say they’re prochoice. So, on what’s one of the most defining issues within the church, effectively half of Catholics make up their own rules on that one. Again, it’s not my place to judge this type of thing, but it’s illustrative of the larger point regarding convenient Catholicism and that Joe Biden is hardly unique in making up his own rules in this regard. One thing I am quite confident in however, is that nowhere near half of Catholics would find it acceptable for Easter, the holiest day of the year for all Christians, to be officially declared by President Biden as “Transgender Day of Visibility”. In an official presidential declaration signed on Friday, Biden stated: On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives. I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity. Where. To. Begin. Honoring extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans? Seriously? Here’s a thought...
- How about honoring the contributions of Christians? He calls on us to lift up the lives and voices of transgender people? Umm, the woke political left has already lifted them up to the level where they usurp the voices of all others. They’ve been lifted up to the point where they’re participating in and systematically are destroying girls and women's sports. And while I agree that violence, and for that matter hate, is never the answer – there is one far more powerful than Joe Biden who does discriminate on the basis of transgenderism. God. Christianity is clear via God’s teachings that transgenderism is wrong. As is noted in the Gospel Coalition’s explanation of transgenderism: In short, the Bible teaches that God made us male or female, and no matter our own feelings or confusion, we should act in accordance with the biological reality of God’s good design. Transgenderism falls short of the glory of God and is not the way to walk in obedience to Christ. Right, God doesn’t make mistakes. We do. It’s biblically crystal clear that transgenderism is amoral. Now, for this reason any declaration celebrating transgenderism by a self-identified Catholic president is blasphemous...but then to do it on Easter Sunday? Are you serious? As noted by former President Trump’s national press secretary Karoline Leavitt, called it appalling and insulting and said the declaration on Easter was a years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden's failing campaign and the White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And to that I say amen. But wait, there’s more. Because as Leavitt also flagged...
- The Biden administration has even taken God out of Easter. For the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House the materials for the participants stated that Easter egg submissions must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements. Right, so first we had Christ taken out of Christmas. Now we have any mention of Christ removed from the day dedicated to Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Kudos to House Speaker Mike Johnson who posted this message on X: The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter — which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Banning sacred truth and tradition—while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day”—is outrageous and abhorrent. The American people are taking note. I certainly hope so. A rag tag group of revolutionaries rising up and winning freedom from a repressive superpower was nothing short of a miracle. The founding of this country took place based on Jeudeo-Christian values. The further we drift from those principles the worse our society becomes. It’s probably not a coincidence. For America to become great again, where the average American’s life is improving, we need leadership who prioritizes God in our country’s decisions. Not the anthesis which is what our current president is doing. By way of actions, Joe Biden is a CINO, and our country is worse off because of it.
