- A nearly yearlong investigation into a drug trafficking operation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, named Operation Rushmore, has led to the arrest of 19 traffickers in the Palm Beaches. Authorities confiscated illegal drugs, guns and cash at the time of the crackdown. The investigation is ongoing in other counties as the traffickers crossed county lines.
- A state-led investigation into the practices of a recovery center operator has led to the closing of its three locations in Palm Beach County. The PIVOT Treatment Center, which bills itself as a drug treatment and alcohol recovery center was found to be in violation of multiple state regulations including not being properly registered with the state.
- US News & World Report’s annual list of the Best High Schools includes two Palm Beach County schools within the top 100 this year. The Dreyfoos School of the Arts ranked 91st nationally with Suncoast Community High School at number 98. The top ranked high school in Florida was Pine View School in Sarasota which ranked 18th nationally.
- It’ll be another nice day today with highs in the upper 70’s, which is about three degrees cooler than usual. We'll have pleasant weather for the rest of the week.
- Gas prices continued lower on Tuesday dropping by two cents per gallon. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.51 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.73 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.56 and in Indian River County the average is $3.52 per gallon.
