- Former President Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago today. Netanyahu is expected to arrive at approximately 11 this morning. Road closures will take place along the impacted route to Mar-a-Lago about 45 minutes prior to his arrival. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said there will be space for supporters/demonstrators on the sides of Southern Blvd. near Mar-a-Lago however no foot traffic will be allowed on the east side of the pedestrian bridge.
- Following Netanyahu’s visit today Trump will speak at The Believer’s Summit being held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. His speech is scheduled at 8 and the event is hosted by Turning Point Action and will also feature Dr. Ben Carson and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
- The University of Florida has become one of the top research schools in the country as they announced a record $1.26 billion was dedicated to university-led research at the school in their most recent fiscal year which concluded June 30th. 18 different colleges under the university’s umbrella participated in granted research activity with just under half of the money derived from federal funds.
- JetBlue has announced they’ll begin offering nonstop service from Palm Beach International to Buffalo starting October 26th.
- It will be sunny and hot again today with highs in the lower 90’s. Temperatures will be about four degrees warmer than usual for this date. Thanks in large part to a significant Saharan dust cloud, the National Hurricane Center’s map is clear and the NHC isn’t expecting tropical activity for the next 7 days.
- Gas prices dropped a couple of cents on Thursday though prices remained unchanged locally. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.43 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.62 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.50 and in Indian River County the average is $3.47 per gallon.
