  • Florida’s 2023 law: Treatments for Sex Reassignment, is once again enforceable in Florida. On Monday a panel of the 11th US. Circuit Court of Appeals stayed Judge Robert Hinkle’s ruling blocking the law which bans transgender reassignment procedures for minors. In the ruling, the panel stated that the state of Florida is likely to win their case when heard before the full court of appeals. Judge Hinkle, a Clinton appointee, and Judge Mark Walker, an Obama appointee, have frequently ruled against Florida’s laws when challenged only to have their decisions overturned upon appeal.  
  • Security has been increased at Whispering Pines Elementary School in Boca Raton after what have been calledcomments by an individual that have caused distress within our school community." In a letter sent to parents the school outlined the concerning comments made by an unidentified individual and that there was no specific threat to the safety and security on campus. The school notes its working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on the matter and that increased security measures at the school are out of “an abundance of caution”.  
  • Palm Beach International Airport has announced Southwest Airlines will offer daily nonstop service to Nashville starting March 6th. The announcement came a month after PBI announced that JetBlue will begin regular nonstop service to Buffalo this fall.  
  • It’ll be hot today with morning showers possible and highs near 90. Temperatures will be about 5 degrees warmer than usual for this date. The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance in the Southern Atlantic slowly moving towards Leeward Islands with a 20% of development over the next week.  
  • Gas prices dropped 2 cents per gallon on Monday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.25 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.44 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.28 and in Indian River County the average is $3.24 per gallon.
