  • Several bills cleared the senate in floor votes on Wednesday as the state legislative session continues to progress. Among the movers that will be taken up in the House is a DOGE bill targeting outdated rules within government, a bill aimed at curbing abuse of neglected animals during emergencies like hurricanes, the ‘Rural Renaissance’ bill, and legislation that would provide the state with authority over the construction of a future presidential library for Donald Trump. 
  • The Lake Worth Beach city commission has approved a downtown parking garage on K Street. The estimated $8.5 million project is being billed as a private-public partnership. Many details are yet to be settled as the project now moves towards design and development. The initial ETA for the new garage is 2026. 
  • The Lake Worth Inlet will be closed from 10 am to 2 pm today to repair a pipe that is being used for the current dredging project at the inlet. Dredging will continue on the north side of the inlet once the repairs are completed with traffic on the south side of the channel resuming.  
  • Sunny and warm today with highs in the mid-80's – warmer than usual for this date. Friday will be the inverse of today as a significant cold front makes its way into the area with overnight lows back into the 50’s and highs in the 60’s.  
  • Gas prices fell another three cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.02 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.17 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.02 and in Indian River County the average is $3.04 per gallon.
