The move is the first major project advanced since the Trump administration granted the state of Florida authority to take the lead on Everglades restoration projects over the Army Corp of Engineers. The result is a five-year acceleration of the EAA Reservoir Project timeline – with the entire project expected to be completed in 2029 rather than previous timeline in 2034.
