WARNING: VIOLENT VIDEO
An alleged car thief led police on a chase through the highways of Los Angeles.
The high-speed chase wrapped up when the driver, with one passenger in the car, pulled into a dead end in a residential area, then tried to turn around and drive past several police cars, where officers were standing with guns drawn.
As the driver pulls up on a curb, shots are fired, though it's not yet known whether the driver or police fired first. Eventually, the passenger crawled out of the car and was taken into custody.
Later, the driver was pulled out of the vehicle by police, who performed CPR. Fire rescue crews have confirmed that he died on the scene.
