Hundreds Of Florida's Brush Fires Were Set Intentionally

It's been learned that 320 of the wildfires that have burned in Florida since the first of the year were intentionally set, and that includes five in Palm Beach County.

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam released the information as part of National Arson Awareness Week.

There have been more than 2,000 fires in the state so far in 2017.  There have been 18 brush fires in Palm Beach County alone and another 54 on the Treasure Coast, of which 8 were set intentionally, according to the Florida Forest Service.

A fire that burned 28 acres near Palm City, and caused the shut down of I-95 on Sunday was not arson, according to authorities.  It was reportedly started when sparks from a disabled vehicle ignited dry grass.
