Hot – “Snowpocalypse 2018” Is Upon Us!

Brian Mudd this morning  came up with an equally as sensational name for the east coast winter storm as the media which is calling it a “bomb cyclone.”  “Snowpocalypse” has a ring to it!  Call it what you will, it’s bringing record low temperatures to areas across the U.S., and snow in places where you rarely see snow.  It snowed yesterday in Tallahassee for the first time in 28 years and other areas of Florida which hadn’t seen snow since 1977.  In Palm Beach County, temperatures dropped into the 30’s overnight, the coldest weather we’ve seen since 2010.  Also, be sure to check with your airline, as thousands of flights have been cancelled today nationwide.

A rapidly-intensifying winter storm system known as a "bomb cyclone" targeted the Northeast on Thursday with snow, ice, bone-chilling winds and a central air pressure similar to that of the devastating Superstorm Sandy.

The wicked winter weather canceled thousands of flights and left schools shuttered across the region -- and is still set to usher in "life-threatening" temperatures this weekend.

"This could be one of the strongest offshore storms we’ve ever experienced with a central pressure in the 950s," Fox News Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean said.
